Technical Director of Hephzibah Sports Club, Shola Ogundare has admitted that Chekas United feeders gave his boys tough game in week 15 of Lagos State football league.
Ogundare made this confession after his boys played 1-1 with visiting team on Tuesday at the Abesan mini Stadium, Ipaja, Alimosho, Lagos.
In a chat with our correspondent, Ogundare explained that their match against Chekas United feeders was a tough one and thanked God for the late equaliser.
“It was not an easy match for us because Chekas United feeders came to our ground with a strong determination. They prepared well for us and they almost ran away with victory but I thank God for the late equaliser, ” he said.
Ogundare could not hide his admiration he has for the Chekas boys performance noted that the visiting team are physically fit and mentally strong in the encounter. He revealed that a minute lack of concentration on the part of visiting team gave his team a late equaliser.
Responding to the encounter, chairman of Chekas United feeders, Chekwube Uzoegbo expressed his sadness over the outcome of the game and frowned over the officiating.
In his explaination, he commended his boys for impressive performance saying that the match would have ended in victory for them but alleged the center referee being biased in his decision.
“Our opponents got their equaliser through clear off side and it was not good for us. I came here to watch this game and motivate my boys to win unfortunately the match officials could not do Justice to the game. I need to report this match to the organisers for further complaint, ” he said.
